How To Improve My English

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barokatuh

Hello guys, in this opportunity I would like to tell you why and how we should improve our English. There are two reasons convex me why we should learn English.

First, English is an international language.

It means, if we meet foreigners no matter where they come from, they speak English. We also can make friends abroad via chatting or correspondent, talking in English, as international language.

Second, English skill is very helpful to go to favorite school and to get jobs.

For example, I’ll tell you about my cousin and my friend. I have a cousin, I call him Mas Nono. The highest education he got is only under degree, but he won a lot of English contest, like debate, speech, story telling, etc. Because he has good ability in English and in his profession, he could join Slambersih company. Do you know what Slambersih is? Slambersih is an oil and gas American Company, one of a very great company in Indonesia. In fact, the other job seekers have higher education degree than Mas Nono. And I have a friend, he also won a lot of English contest. The latest news I have heard about him is he got opportunity to join AFS or student exchange programs. What a great opportunity!

Well, that two reasons convex me why we should improve our English. So how we improve our English?

English divided into four skills, namely :

1.     Speaking Skill

2.     Writing Skill

3.     Listening Skill

4.     Reading Skill

Well, I’ll tell you how we improve those skills.

First, how to improve speaking skill?

You can speak English with yourself in front of the mirror. Or read English dialogue loudly

Second, how to improve our writing skill?

You can write anything you want in English! You can write your own diary in English, or blogging in English, or have correspondent or chatting friends abroad.

Third! How we improve our listening skill?

First, find what you interest! If you like western or Hollywood movies, watch your favorite film with subtitles. After you understand the film, watch other movie like before. Or if you don’t like watching films but you like listening to music, listen to your favorite English song! Or listen the English radio or you can listen to English news, as often as you can.

And the last! How to improve your reading skill?

Improve reading skill is quite easy. You can read English text on many medias, like blog, English books, English news (on newspaper), or else.

So those are how we improve our English. The last but not least, don’t give up learn English.
